I finished this course in order to create a video but I failed miserably with fusion and its nodes. I keyed out green screen and added gradient to its background, masked PIP and placed it in the corner. In result I got PIP but also black screen behind it, covering whole screen and I can’t figure out how to get rid of it.. any ideas why?..

What is working great is using a sidechain - compressor on the music audio, so it ducks down everytime you talk and the volume is above the given thresshold. It saves a lot of extra work.

I'm unclear about naming conventions, specifically the underscore. When you rename a node or other elements, is it necessary to use an underscore, as in "This_Node" or is it OK to just name it "This Node" without an underscore? What is the benefit or necessity of the underscore?

Can I pick your brain !! I’m using beta 19 I shoot a feature in a harsh environment sound wise and even with a blimp and a high end mic I’m still getting noise wind in the whole production is there away I can add isolation on every clip in one hit rather one track at a time

Can the video card 4080 be used to color correct/grade footage? Can we use a blackmagic intensity 4k hdmi declink card at the same time and use the 4080 editing? I sthat common 2 have a card for your display and another for ediitng?

31:20 really - or just a dumb question for the interview? I guess the latter. A Laptop power supply can be, maybe 100 Watt. PC power supplies are not even beginning under 300 Watt. When a GPU sucks 350 watt, it is supposed to be faster right? Otherwise one would get 300 Watt just heat - which is not the case.

11:44 This node setup in Da Vinci Resolve 19 Public Beta makes playback extremely slow. It renders 0.5 frame per second. Any ideas what may be the reason for that?

Thank you very much! Did (very basic) video editing in iMovie for years so I was overwhelmed by the ton of options when I tried out Davinci on my own for the first time. This video was extremely helpful to build up my Davinci skills from scratch. The tricks and ways of working I learnt and I would't have known without the tutorial also saved me a lot of time. Great structure, good explained, especially for Davinci-Newbies. I admire the way you let flow variations of ways to do something, shortcuts or details effortlessly into the video. This is a nugget of gold!!!
